Since i was little
i had english lessons in school, and i enjoy them, because for me, in some way,
it was exciting to have the possibility to express myself with new words and
pronunciation. It was like a game where i could be another person, from another
country.
With the time
english was the language from the movies or music that i listened to, so in
that time, i learned a lot, looking the lyrics in internet, or just listening
every time i watched a movie.
But in some point,
i think stop learning. I dont know why, maybe because since i left school i
dont practice anymore. But my english with the time it s not getting any
better, in fact, its getting really poor.
In that way i
think its very interesting what the speaker told today about Mapudungun. Because
when nobody talks your language, not at school, not in the street, not when you
go to buy some bread, it s very difficult to hold on to it.
Our mind, that it s very brilliant
for some things, it also forgets more quickly then we think... So when we talk
about languages, the first thing we should realize, is that we need each other.

Wow, I believe that every language is valuable because it shows an especial and unique way of representing reality. Mapudungun is very hard to understand from outside, very different from any other language so its really sad that its disappearing slowly through the years.
